During the PIANC Smart Rivers Conference in Lyon, the DIWA project was presented by Therry van der Burgt.
The conference hosted a broad range of tracks (e.g. Smart Transport, Transport Economics, Infrastructure design & maintenance) with digitalization as an important theme. Numerous topics (e.g. cybersecurity, smart shipping, RIS, etc.) presented by knowledgeable speakers underlined the importance of digitalization for inland waterway transport, providing valuable input and contacts for the masterplan DIWA project.
