Martijn van Hengstum introduced the DIWA project at the traditional “Common Issues Meeting” that was held during the RIS Week on the 27th of November at Palais des Congrès de Liège. 93 RIS experts from 16 countries as well as some guests from industry and logistics discussed, which technologies will determine telematics and logistics in inland navigation in the future, and which services are already available today.
The masterplan “Digitalization of Inland Waterways” will analyse business, technological developments and necessary conditions and their effects on inland navigation and develop a vision and roadmap for the upcoming digital transformation inland waterway management.
